The Swedish Exegetical Society is an association of academic teachers, students, and other persons with an interest in biblical studies in its many different varieties.
Each year in September, or in early October, the society organizes an Exegetical Day, with lectures and seminars on current topics in biblical studies. At around the same time, the society's annual Svensk Exegetisk Årsbok [Swedish Exegetical Annual] is published.
The society was founded as the Uppsala Exegetical Society in 1936. At the annual meeting, on October 5, 2007, the society changed its name to the Swedish Exegetical Society.
