Svenska exegetiska sällskapet

Instructions for Contributors

The editors are happy to receive contributions in the form of articles, review articles, and book reviews. Manuscripts shall be sent to David Willgren and reviews to Rosmari Lillas. Manuscripts shall be submitted electronically, as a Word-file. Use a common font (such as Times New Roman). For antique languages, use Unicode. The deadline for upcoming issues is March 1 each year.

SEÅ accepts manuscripts in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, English, German and French. Articles must deal with issues relevant to the field of biblical exegesis. A gender-neutral language is advised. SEÅ will perform no language review apart from the standard proof-reading.

All manuscripts shall be provided with a first page containting the following information: full name of the author, including affiliations and contact information, the main title of the article, an abstract in English (no more than 1500 characters, including spaces), 5–10 keywords, and the total amount of words in the article. The author’s name shall not appear in the article proper.

Submitted articles will be subject to a double-blind peer-review, and notification regarding publication is normally provided within two to three months. Published articles are licensed with a CC BY-NC-ND license, and the author holds the copyright and retains publishing rights without restrictions. The author is not charged for the publication.

Reviews shall be sent to the review editor as a Word-file. Books for review can also be supplied. Review should not extend 8000 characters, including spaces.

Manuscripts shall follow The SBL Handbook of Style, 2nd edition (2014), in matters of style. SEÅ uses the footnote system where complete publication data should be supplied in the first note referring to a given source. Subsequent notes in the same work referring to the same source should use an abbreviated form.

For any additional questions regarding the preparation and submission of manuscripts, contact David Willgren.
